Friday was just a spectacular weather day. I took advantage of the weather to climb Pico and Killington from Route 4. I parked at the trailhead just west of Shelburne Pass.
Trail conditions were great. I didn't see any of the porcupines that have supposedly taken over Pico Peak. Fortunately my hound dog didn't see any either.
I saw 5 or 6 other people on the trail. On the way back I overtook a guy who is doing a through hike of the Long Trail and I ended up hiking with him for the last 6 miles back to the car. I then gave him a ride to the Inn at the Long Trail where he was going to stay that night.
Pics and more info.
