Started early wasn't sure how the trail would be today. Thanks to the two fellows who broke trail ahead of me. Trail had been hiked earlier but had filled in. By the end of the day it was a super highway. Nicely packed all the way to Eisenhower. Mizpah cutoff was not broken when I passed it on the way up but had been broken later. Crawford path by-pass around Eisenhower is unbroken. The first fellow up went down via Edmunds path, so that is probably broken out. Clinton Rd. is closed, but the snowmobilers have packed that down also. What a day for the season opener. Sunny with some wind at the summit of Ike, but no wind elsewhere. No blowdowns. Trail in excellant shape. Saw about 30 hikers today.
