Just planning some adventures for next summer, and was curious if there is a herd path that follows the pilot ridge between The Bulge and Hutchins Mountain?

I havent heard of one and judging by the conditions from Mt Mary to Pilot, it could be some rouhg going throuhg thick sprure/fir blowdown. There is a spot on the KRT where I expect many have looked over in that direction and asked themsolves why isnt there a trail over there?.

I feel it would be a improvement for the Coos trail as it would cut out the road walk (but the downside would be a chance to stop in Stark).

On the ridge north of Hutchins I found something that looked like an old snow machine trail.

Doesn't qualify as 'between', though. :--)

I was curious about that too, so thanks. The USGS Topos show a 4x4 trail that ascends most of the way up and was curious if that was still a viable path to gain the summit of Hutchins
