N and M Tripyramind from Pine Bend Brook Trail 1/2/09
TRAIL CONDITIONS: Powder and packed powderd , perfect conditions for snow shoes (although you wouldn't think so from the trail head!)l and even better if you have heel lits for the steeps. When it starts to get steep and the trail turns left there are now 2 trails, the one to the left and one that goes straight ahead. Both trails have wind blown snow. All water crossings are ok, some are scarier than others. Cinder did make a few post holes today, sorry. Cinder, Nancy & Joe
The road has been plowed to allow for a couple of cars right at the tralhead
I also managed to lose a mitten today on the upper stretches of the trail. A black OR mitten with a fleece lining. Add this to the Tubbs snowshoe that I lost Monday on the Monroe Summit Loop and this has been an expensive week of hiking
