Plateau 12/29/07 From Mink Hollow Rd.
Date of Hike: 12/29
Trail Conditions:
Started @ Mink Hollow Rd in Elka Park. About 6" of snow. Snow increased to about 12" at summit. The snow was softening due to the warm temperatures, but was firm enough to support my (over)weight.
Continued to the (not so) new Long Path trail junction.
Special Equipment Required:
Wore stabilicers the entire trip. Minimal post holing.
Comments:
Last night the rain froze to the trees and was falling like rain, most of the trip up.
There was some good butt sliding on the way down
4.2 miles round trip. 1,630' elevation gain.
