On my final day in NY I came across 2 beautiful and playful fawns romping around in a field. I took at least 90 pics of them, but I'll post a few of the ones I like the most, plus a couple videos.

The fawns knew I was there, but seemed somewhat unfazed, and let me sit down at the corner of the field and take pictures. The jumped around the field and did their business. One time they even ran towards me for a brief second...was wondering if they were trying to bluffcharge...but I really don't think so.

Very impressive!

Thanks Paradox!

Beautiful pictures! How wonderful to be able to watch them play :)
Yeah I felt pretty lucky. Even though we were in a somewhat urban area, its still great watching wild animals.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing theses wonderful moments!

Thanks forestgnome! Besides me own love for the outdoors, your reports and pictures sometimes makes me want to get out there and look for these wild animals, just so I can experience what you do.

Phil,
An exceptional set of photographs; especially the fawns at play. It's easy to take many photos when the subjects are cooperative. Was the mother anywhere around?

I never saw the mom, but after I left, my parents said she came out and was with her young. I was amazed I didn't see her, esp since I was only 50 feet away...maybe even less.

Donna:)

The raised tail in the first picture is an alarm signal, so they were presumably concerned at your presence.

Nice pics.

Simply terrific Phil! You really got some very dear deer photos!:)
Judging from the reports you posted, I'd say you had a wonderful time during your travels in Upstate NY.
