Ledges trail: The trail was mostly clear of snow and ice from the trailhead to the the ledges. From the upper ledges to the summit there was some ice that made the going a bit slippery.
The trail itself is in excellent condition. The Loon Echo Trust and the trail adopters have done an excellent job in upgrading this trail especially from the trailhead to the ledges. The new trail layout is well done with good footing. It's been a number of months since I last went up and I noticed that it is newly marked with square blue reflective markers nailed to the trees. The use of trail markers other than paint is something I don't think I've seen elsewhere in New England on a hiking trail.
We didn't see anyone else on the trail today, but as we headed home I saw two cars at the Bald Peak trailhead.
The views from the top of this little mountain are outstanding especially on a clear day. As we stood on the summit My attention was drawn to a peak in that same massive that I've never been up. Sounds like a project for an upcoming hike.
