trail conditions: 10" snow at lower elevations 2' at higher (2000'), unbroken until around the Babcock trail (now it's broken though)
special equipment: snowshoes-essential, ice axe-useful, crampons-not necessary
comments: don't be fooled by the realtively small amount of snow at lower elevations. We struggled to make it to the two shelter/cabins on this route N to S, although the last day out wasn't bad because the trail was mostly broken. Good weather with no snow accumulation while hiking.
