For those not familiar with the place, its on route 2 in Randolph at the end of the road that accesses the Jefferson Notch Road. It is a few miles to the nearest trailhead (Castle Trail up Jefferson would be the closest). Its about an equal drive from Appalachia to the hotel as it is from Gorham.

The plus side is that it is in a fairly quiet area without a set of RR tracks running across the street (like at HP and most of Gorham). The down side is that most of the services expected by hikers are in Gorham (Jefferson has a few stores and one breakfast place).

There is really no good reason for AT hikers to use it due to the steep drop off the ridge and long road walk, therefore the general hiking community would have to support it rather than the long distance community. Therefore if you think you will use it, definitely give the folks some feedback.
