Left Appalachia at 5:20 and headed up Madison via Valley Way and Watson Path. Low visibility, wet, and high winds on Madison and for most of the hike through to Monroe. At least it wasn't cold.
Ascended Adams by Star Lake Trail. Reached Washington by noon. I might have seen 8 other people on the trail until this point, although there were plenty of people at Madison Hut and many people at the summit of Washington. Spent an hour at the summit. One break in the clouds on the way down Crawford Path then poor visiblility through to Monroe.
Some views and better visibility after Lake of The Clouds. Started to rain a little after Eisenhower w/ thunderheads to the south. I had originally planned to get to Jackson and then out to Crawford Notch, but once i got to Mizpah Springs I opted to head down (due to building storms and fatigue) by the cutoff and Craford Path.
Met one other person (the man from Rhode Island) doing the traverse on the way up Valley Way. Thanks for the advice and encouragement. I only hope I'm out there when I'm "closer to 70 than 60".
