Trail Conditions: Excellent. The fence off the southbound I 87 ramp has been repaired. Therefore, one has to park in the village of Lake George and climb the strange metal staircase over the Northway now to access the trail.
On the lower elevations there was minimal snow cover, with some ice underneath. With increased elevation the snow pack increased. Wore snowshoes the whole time. Trail is in good shape with no blowdown.
Equipment required: I would recommend snowshoes or Yaktrax. I saw folks barebooting, but I would not recommend it because of the ice under the snow cover. With snowshoes you would have a more delightful time and wouldn`t slip and slide around.
Comments: Nice views from the summit.
