Just checking in from Colorado. After a rough weather start to my trip out here, I just finished a 4 day - 60 mile hike in the Mt Zirkel Wilderness, which was just fantastic. Lots of high peaks, snowfields and glacial lakes. Taking the rest of the day off here in Steamboat Springs and then *I THINK* heading to Rocky Mtn Natl Park for the weekend. I'll be back here on Sunday night for my friends birthday, then making the 8 hour drive up to the Sawtooth Wilderness in Idaho. Tons of good photos, but no way to get any of them to the site from here. Just dropping a quick note, there will be plenty more when I am back in NH in two weeks.

Oh yea, and no way I am doing Owl's Head again!

I knew I should have bailde out on work and gone with you...

Can't wait to see the photos when you get back. We will have a photo exchange marathon. Hope the rest of the trip is good.

ps: you probably didn't hear, it is a male nightmare here in Patriots land - first we lost our Bruschi and now we lost our Johnson.

Heading to Idaho

Well, I had just about the best day ever backpacking in the Rocky Mountain National Park this past weekend. I did the CDT loop that runs from the west side of the park up to Flattop Mtn and back down. On Sunday, I saw over 50 elk - one herd of 10 males - a family of mule deer (babys still spotted), 6 bighorn sheep, and a mama and baby moose to end the day. Oh yea, and there were some pretty fantastic views as well.

I have the photos, but unfortunately I can't upload them from this computer at the library. So you'll all have to wait a couple of more weeks. :)

Anyway, spending at least a week in the Sawtooth Wilderness and the White Cloud Wilderness. If I have any time left over, I'll do the loop around the Tetons.

Good luck to everyone who is attempting Ranier!!!

Few Photos

Well, I found a library that let me upload a few photos. I really just needed to verify that I burned them all correctly before clearing out my cards, but since I am right here, I figured I would upload a couple of quick shots from the Rocky Mountain National Park. Now I am off to the woods.
