Conditions: Each of these trails had very good footing except a short section of Black Angel near the Carter Moriah Junction, where it is quite treacherous. The Rainbow trail climbs unrelentingly for 2.5 miles, through nice open hardwoods. Black Angel and The Basin Trail each had several blow downs, but not difficult to go over or under. Black Angel heading west from Blue Brook Shelter climbs very steeply for a while, before descending to the Wild River.
Special Equipment: None
comments: Beautiful area of the Whites, to avoid the crowds.
