Red Hill via Red Hill Trail
Date of Hike: Saturday, April 12, 2008
Trail Conditions: Spring snow, ice, mud
Special Equipment Required: None
Comments:
Parking areas mostly clear.
Bottom portion of the Red Hill Trail alternates between dry ground, minor mud, and frozen granular/ice. Upper 3/4s of trail is mostly spring snow - if you stay on the packed monorail in the middle, you can bareboot. Otherwise, you can still snowshoe from the second kiosk to the summit.
Anywhere for 0"-24" of base.
Only water crossing has a wooden bridge.
There was one blowdown, but someone cleared it before I descended.
Nice day considering the forecast!
