Success on Redfield and Cliff on Saturday, 7/19, but what a long day. We started at 8AM from Upper Works and got back at 9PM. We tackled Redfield first and summitted at 1PM. The trail was easy to follow and still one of the most picturesque as you follow the brook. We were back to the junction at 2:30 and decided to go for Cliff even though fatique was setting in and we knew what lay ahead. It's a little beast of a climb but easy to follow with minimal obstructions. Just very vertical! We reached the summit at 3:30 and saw the sign. Mud spots along the way on both trails but not too bad. Bugs were not a problem either. We had hazy views from both summits, and the weather cooperated with no rain and comfortable temps. We were back to Uphill LT at 4:45PM and readied ourselves for the long trek back. We reached UW just before dark All in all a great day to be out and enjoying God's creation with my son. Bring plenty of water and the usual summer equipment and enjoy a long day of hiking.
