hello...this is my first post...I want to do Redington Peak tomorrow, and wondering how obvious the trail is from Caribou Rd, and more importantly, how long the RT is, as my best hiking partner is 13 years old, still wants to go but I need to be careful with him, he no longer has 15 mile days in him....thanks.

It's about 4 - 5 miles from CVR to the summit of Redington form the point that most people park - about 1 mile past where the AT crosses the road just before a bridge that looks iffy. Actually if you brought a couple of 12 foot 2 x 12's with you to put down you could probably drive over the bridge and get much closer to the trail.

From where most park, it is a about 3 miles of fireroad to the trail. The trail is gentle and easy to follow.

Mohamad's site has good directions to get you to the trail from teh parking area - there are several turns to take. We have never hiked up it, but came down it this past Laborday weekend.

Good Luck!
