As predicted by the WMG, the McCrillis Path was rerouted last year and now extends from Blueberry Ledge Tr to the end of Whiteface Intervale Rd, avoiding private property. I hiked it from Wonalancet, out and back. At the western end there is still no parking any closer than the Flat Mtn. Pond trailhead, and the start of the trail would be hard to find. You need to walk past the warning / turn-around-here sign, follow the "main" dirt road (not obvious ... it is the middle one), then look for a row of blue-blazed trees on the right, then cross into a field on the left with a sign at the back (nature preserve), then continue past the sign into the woods for a ways where you'll find a temporary sign announcing the start of the re-routed trail. After that it's easy to follow, and climbs up past a small, interesting gorge filled with spectacular ice. Saw several spots where moose had rested or slept, and lots of tracks.
