Two of us hiked to Mt's Resolution & South Resolution on 15 Dec 2012 via Davis Path and Mt Parker Trails. there was dusting of snow at trail head elevation and increased moderately to summit plateau. We donned Katoola Trail Crampons when we topped out on the summit plateau below Crawford. They worked very well on the intermittently icy trails. Microspikes would have been ok too. One spot was shaky though. The first sorrt o steep slab you come to when you get above treeline on Resolution were covered with thick sheet of ice leading to no-fall drop-off. I didn't feel comfortable in the katoola's, but my companion Paradox did and he crossed the ice. I however opted to walk over on edge of delecate alpine vegetation. I don't think anyone would have opted to cross this ice slab with microspikes.
I did a bit of brushing on the S Resolution spur trail. I've been through here enouogh times in last few years that the spur trail is now pretty well defined. All it needs now is a little sign. Views on S Resolution did not disapoint on this cold sunny clear day.
