After being completely out of action for over 2 1/2 weeks with a back injury, the hiking rehab began today.
Bookah and I got out on a beautiful section of the northern LP early in the morning. Birds chirping, the lower meadow waist high dewy grass and wildflowers galore. I understand that the town hasn't mowed the track thru the lower meadow as they've been concerned about mowing ground nesting birds. Bravo for their concern.
Maybe it was the enforced abscence, but somehow all the wild smells were stronger, the chirps more melodious, and the humidity a less less noticeable.

Boo loved being out, but wasn't wild about wearing her new Ruffwear harness. Wanted to do a shakedown before she wears it in the mountains.
The handle on top is going to be a big plus over passing her up and down ledges as we've done in the past. Thanks for the info on this, Bill.
Ruffwear also sells a webbing leash that allows an option to buckle it around your waist. We tried that for a bit and it will be nice for hands free control when other hikers are around.

Maybe even a CHH sometime next week. Hope you don't mind my sharing how good it feels to be back out , even in this abbreviated way.
