Date of Hike: 07/11/2013
Trail Conditions: easy to follow but hard to find the parking area. Overgrown a bit in a couple of spots heading north toward the campsites, further north, very overgrown, I turned back, maybe 200 yards past the northern most of the two sites.
Special Equipment Required: long pants probably a good idea and tolerance for hiking a bland viewless old road.
Comments: Optional – the road and camp sites are meant for allowing camping opportunities for people with disabilities. My hope was for a relatively easy, flat hike where no one goes so I might see some wildlife. The road was too wide to provide shade in the near mid-day sun, the bugs were bad down low & even 20 foot rises to more woods lost their allure. Going in the late afternoon would have helped with shade but not the bugs probably & I had to pack & get ready to hike tomorrow in the High peaks area.
