I'm looking for leads on rustic cabins open in the winter in the Catskills. Someplace good for hiking, snowshoeing and possible X-country skiing (although the latter isn't all that important.) Should be able to sleep four. Don't care about running water, but a woodstove, fireplace or gas heater would be nice. Looking for a Thu-Sun at the end of February. Thanks.

There are some cabins in Oliverea, which is south of Big Indian and north of Claryville. It's just north of where the Slide Mtn trailhead is. I believe there are some cabins there but don't forget the name. There is a bunch of different places there so make sure you find the right one.

There's also Kate Pierson (of the B-52s!) who run cabins on Rt 28 in Tremper called Laze Meadow Cabins.. They're pricey though...

..and not sure if they are "rustic" but perhaps B-52ish! She's got a eclectic taste in design as the B-52s were in music! Not cheap either!

A google search pulls the following:

Some of them are not in the high peaks of the catskills, but more like the Shawangunks (like Ellenville) but others are there...
