Snowshoes all the way. Did S Hancock first. Trail was not super packed out when we went through but should be better now as there were a few parties behind us (including a duo of barebooters).
Started the bushwhack over to NW Hancock just before N Peak. The going wasn't too bad & the trailbreaking not horrible, but I did "fall off the ridge" a bit to the west in attempts to avoid spruce traps and thicker stuff. Heading back uphill, the narrower, much more well defined ridge to the summit became apparent, and it was relatively smooth sailing from there. The ridge is pretty cool and has some nice boulders that look like they shouldn't be there. Visibility wasn't great, but we did get some limited views of the awesome slides to the East. We hit Pk 4020', signed in (last person signed in in January), had a spot of tea, and followed our tracks back up (~600') to N Peak... and out.
Took us ~1:45 hours from N to NW Peaks and 1 hour to return. 7.5 hours total. The route isn't perfect, but it went! Much thanks to Tucker & Freakish Calves for their company!
