It was beautiful spring day in the forest, with a very light mist and not a single bug bothered me. I was the only person at a very full falls. The crossings are quite difficult so I bushwacked around a few of them. I eventually left the trail for good, to the west. There are plenty of wildflowers on the northern flanks of the Sandwich Range.

Looking good. Thanks for the pics and naming them. I know the names of some of these and several I have seen and didn't know the names. Now I do. :D Can't wait for the next batch of photos.

Thanks,
Keith

...and it turned out to be a rather large adult cow, eating hobblebush voraciously...

I've been wanting to see a moose in a patch of hobblebush blossoms, but this patch was just beginning to bloom.

Then I noticed she's pregnant. Check out the tummy! She's eating for two or three..

As much as I wanted to photograph her, I gave her much more space than usual because I didn't want to upset her while pregnant. Maybe I'll see her again with calves!

Happy Trails :)

Amazing photos. I love the semi-translucent red trillium and the green hellebore (Indian poke). Without consulting my field guide your white blossoms, I think are serviceberry. Indian poke is different from skunk cabbage, but they can intermingle. I've never noticed the variations in your trillium pictures, but am going to keep my eyes open from now on.

wow...

Great shots here, looks like a great day! The shot of the wild oats is unique, well composed and SHARP! Thanks for the report!
