What a day! Short spikes or stabilicers are good on the hard spine to JBL. Lots and lots of running water. I'd expect very little snow much of the way to JBL after tomorrow, but lots of mud and parts of the trail are flooded as are parts of the lower Ore Bed. The river crossings are still possible but the water is high, fast and cold. The trail spine up is pretty solid in the morning by just off of it is deep soft snow. Down in the afternoon everything is soft and the snow bridges over streams no longer hold. Snowshoes, especially given the warm nighttime temps, are essential as is sunscreen. Also, the top of the road up to Garden is deeply rutted and muddy. Sadly, today I'm at work.
