Not too wet at the bottom, easy crossings. Couldn't go on Piazza Rock, is was too icy.
We paid a visit to Ledge Pond summit, and the blazing along the way was like a vision of horror. Hatchet cuts and paint on each tree.
Full layer of snow above 2500', snowshoes are essentials. A moose post-holed from the atv road to treeline, making the climb interesting.
Absolutely beautiful up Saddleback, no ice, and very little snow in the col between the two 4k peaks. No snowshoes required on the ridge.
I saw only one dude with his dog all day long.
Too bad the BF didn't join me up there, it was awesome.
(but that's the reason why I could go down via the ski slopes, so thanks my love).
