From Rt 49 to the erratic field at about 4 miles no snow of note. Frozen mud which was not frozen below the top layer was a far bigger problem. Some rocks on water crossings were very slick. Above the 4 mile mark as the climb got steeper more snow but easily barebootable. From junction to summit there was the most snow (still bare boot) with some ice from earlier hikes. Some of us used microspikes down (just made you a bit faster and less concerned with slipping) but some were barebooting and doing fine also. This is the longer route to the summit but very enjoyable. 3 dogs with us and they appeared to be having a great time, as there was plenty of snow, water and mud with great smells all around.
