The lake road from the Ausable Club is in good shape. All packed down. Rangers are requesting snowshoes or skiis on the road to keep it in good shape. The Weld Trail to the col between Gothics and Sawteeth had been broken out but still loose snow on the path that kept you sliding on the steeps. The trail to Sawteeth was a little less consolidated but at least 5 folks made it to the summit on Saturday. There was also tracks heading toward Gothics out of the col but do not know if that person made the Gothics summit.
Snowhoes required for the hike. Crampons not needed. Conditions could be different now since it was snowing quite hard on Sunday morning at lower elevations.
