Ok, for those of you who want another chance, no ambiguity about this one. On hiking one NH4 for the umpteenth time this past Sunday late afternoon, I managed to redline 0.3 mi of trail. For a pint of Pemi Pale Ale (or substitute, as the Station was out of Pemi the past couple of days), name both the peak and the redlined trail.

I'll venture a guess, Jefferson, 6 Husbands Trail, from Gulfside to Edmands Col Cutoff?? Or would the mt be closer to Waterville Valley??

The phrases "umpteenth time" and "late afternoon" influenced my guess:

Mt Tecumseh........the west portion (Sosman?) of the summit loop.

Well I figure three strikes and I'm out, so guess # 2, Cannon and Dodge Cutoff??

Got it! Let me know when you are going to be at Woodstock Station for your Pemi Pale Ale. :D

I was really surprised when I reviewed my 16 previous ascents of Cannon to discover that I had missed the Dodge Cutoff. So, on my 17th ascent, I hiked up the Hi-Cannon Trail and down the Lonesome Lake Trail before taking the detour back to Hi-Cannon via the Dodge Cutoff, which is in pretty rough shape with lots of mud and blow downs at the moment, although no open crevasses like others found on Cannon a day earlier. Perhaps it is finally time to ski Dodge's Drop in Tucks, which I have never descended, although most probably too late for this season.

Thanks!! And I prefer pale over stout...I guess I ll have to try to catch up to you on Cannon, only 13 trips behind you!!! But I have taken the Dodge Cutoff once, I so have all trails in that area redlined..though I m not really redlining (or maybe I am!!) Lefty E
