We hiked into the camp site along the truck trail leading to Calkins Brook on Friday morning. The site was the perfect size and location to attack the Sewards via Calkins. The trail up Calkins was in good condition although it was pretty muddy in many spots. It was very easy to follow dispite all the leaves falling. Went to Donnaldson then Emmonds then back to Seward. All the trails were muddy but like I said in good condition. Ended up doing the hike from camp site back in about 5.5 hours. I didnt feel like we pushed real hard the whole day. Views were awesome and the nice fire at night made the trip all the better. Nice easy over night trip. I love those...
I did wear gaiters and used poles. I am glad I did. The mud was not deep just real messy.
