Did a loop hike heading out the Blueberry footpath and then up the herdpath over Seward. Crossed the summit and went on to Donaldson before descending by Caulkins brook path.
It rained all night but cleared in the morning so we proceeded along the Blueberry trail with optimism. The herdpath up Seward was very muddy and the rock scrambles were flowing streams but fortunately they weren't too slippery in spite of all the water. Clouds and rain arrived just before we summited but blew over before we got to Donaldson (so we got some views). The trail on the range was in pretty good shape and the Caulkins brook path was in wonderful shape with little or no mud. Blackflies came out in force when we got to Donaldson so we didn't stay too long. We didn't see much trace of them below 3000ft so they were only a limited nuisance.
Great day in the Sewards with conditions challenging but all in all a fun day.
