shanty brook ?

hello all thank you for all of your advice and insight in advance.I being the great leader of brave ,resorcefull ,quickwited, noisy, fowlsmelling fools have been sumoned to divise another means to inflict pain and fear on there hard working souls.this being said let me begin
I was thinking of going up from st. huberts over the lower Ausable and up the Shanty Brook to wear It brakes left and spend the nite under the slides of basin ,than ski down and out the next morning.
The party consists of 4 very fit (very fit means no pot bellys) firefighters from N.Y.C. that are novices at back country skiing but thrive on adventure. We have all done winter overniters my qustion is two fold do you have any first hand experiance on the brook or the the base of the southeast slides on basin? Do you think this a fruitless journey bound to end in disaster ,but make one hell of a story ? I must add while I portray use as bumbleing bufoons we are strong and skilled at the art of survival. My advice would be to pick a different destination. Where you're describing is over private property.

ahh yes the privately owned land, the I wont hunt,fish,camp or build a fire while I am hiking on trail on private land.There is one problem, I,m a realy bad trail follower. Sorry you are correct the aproach is over private land.Dam the Individual who sold the land if I,m not mistaken that land was sold as recently as 40 years ago.Then again if the high peaks were as aproachable from all sides as the whites, they would be as crowded(they let the city folk roam around at will over there) .So your saying this would be an infringment(travaling across the lower ausable lake) on the private land being of trail and all.well are they nice people, if my ball gose into there yard can I go get it back?Should I ask for permision?I have hiked the trails on this land they have been sketchy at times leading down to the upper ausable ,how big are the dogs? I do understand rules are rules right! did that sound sincere? ty kd
