BeccaM and I hiked too many (IMO) miles in the Great Gulf for her redlining thing. It was a beautiful day for the Presidentials so we hiked up the Great Gulf.

I hiked the Six Husbands trail many years ago and remember it to be the only trail that has ever scared me. There're so many boulders over your head as you climb the steep forested ridge.

It was a bit breezy up on the summits, but not nearly as forecasted.

Buttress Trail sees very little use. It's a wild and beautiful trail, but not as scary as the Six Husbands

Becca traded in her sneakers for hiking boots...yay!

another beautiful, albeit too long, day in the mountains :)

Great stuff Patrick! Best views of the Six Husbands that I've seen (and more testament to the fact that you're not ever likely to find me on it). :-O

Also the best views of the Star Lake moose. Very nice portrait!

Thanks for sharing a great day in the mountains.

Great stuff Patrick! Best views of the Six Husbands that I've seen . . . Also the best views of the Star Lake moose. Thanks for sharing a great day in the mountains.
Patrick . . . I'm in complete agreement with Mark's statement quoted above. Excellent report. And, your photos are not only awesome as always, but also very informative in terms of depicting some key features of the Six Husbands Trail.

Awesome! I hiked Madison Gulf and Buttress Trail for someone else's "redlining thing" but didn't have time to get to Six Husbands and Sphinx that day -- thanks for those photos and report -- great to see the Six Husband Trail is still open! :)

Oh man, so jealous of your trip up six husbands. I gotta get up there! Great pics
