Trails were dry and in fine shape.
Nice weather for a short bike ride and hike. We rode from the West Trapps parking over to Skytop and hiked up to the tower via the Crevice. Great views of the Mohonk Mountain House, especially from the top of the tower.
Notes:
>Black flies are out, and will gather around you after a minute when you stop. A couple bites, but very manageable.
>$9.00 / person permit.
One of the trails on Skytop is closed. Based on the signage painted on the talus, I think it's called the "Birchen" trail. We had planned on taking it back down, but we found out at the top that it was closed, so we ended up walking down toward the Mountain House and then taking the trail back along the talus.
