Trail conditions: Up to 12-18" of snow on the mountain, albeit a few wet spots with no snow. The 'standard route' to the summit, PE to WCS, is a well-packed highway. Easy going. CO is more or less packed out. The section of PE that completes the loop between CO and WCS is not packed out. WCS not packed out beyond the Burroughs plaque near the summit.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes recommended, albeit some hikers were bare-booting today. Traction aids not needed at this point, but would be helpful on some of the ledgy spots on CO trail if your snowshoes do not have aggressive traction.
Comments: Light winds and not too cold, and a well-packed trail - 3 ingredients that add up to a good and easy day on the mountain. Unfortunately the summit and upper mountain was in the clouds the entire time I was there.
