Caps Ridge is Snow Free

As of 4:00 PM today the US Forest Service website shows the Jefferson Notch Road as being closed. How did you get to the trailhead?

EDIT: Just saw your trail report indicating that the road is closed and you walked. Do you have any echos as to "if" "when" the road will be opened? Does the Forest Service permit the use of bikes when the gate is closed?

They were not going to drive up looking for my bike & I locked it. The bike was effective from C-Notch to the gate. Probably 1/2 an hour after leaving the bike, it dawned on me I'd have to walk the road to get the bike back. So I still walked the whole road, just not at the same time.

Apparently another cup of coffee was in order.
