I was trying to do some survey work north of Rangeley at around 2000 feet on Saturday (5/3). Ran into deep snow in the softwoods that made travel difficult. Sat afternoon and night they got .25" of rain--but it was cold so seemed like little snow melt occurred. Ground (including dirt roads) totally saturated.
If the area you need to travel in is heavily tracked by snow machines or shaded by softwoods, I think you're still stuck. Keep in mind that after the snow melts, there will still be a couple of days where the frost is coming out of the ground and so the dirt road will basically become liquid.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news--but I think you are still at least a week away.
