I didn't wish to imply a value judgement by my previous post.

I didn't take it that way, and I'm sorry if my post came across with a similar tone. I just hate getting taken for a ride while trying to "be green". It's the same story with LED lights. I know the light itself costs a bit more, but 5x more per set? ($2 vs. $10, regular prices) Based on my current usage, I won't save enough in electricity to pay for them in 5 years and if they're made with the same cheap wire as my current mini-lights, I'll be tossing the whole set out before then.

I try not to drop a crumb of granola in the WMNF. Cut down a tree?

I had the same thought. Cutting trees willy-nilly in the national forest seems contrary to Leave No Trace.
