Date of Hike: 7/4/2010
Trail Conditions: Ascent is never steep, evenly graded, good footing. The Black Cat summit down to the pond is very overgrown, mostly with ferns and wildflowers, watch yourself for ticks here. Otherwise trail in good shape, 1 blowdown that is easy to get over on the southern ascent about 2/3 of the way pond.
Special Equipment Required: DEET and extra water. This trail has a 4-mile stretch with no water options, and it was a very hot and muggy day.
Comments: We encountered another aggressive momma partridge/grouse. I've seen a lot of those this year!
