South Doublehead, North Doublehead via Old Path, New Path, and Doublehead Ski Trail
Date of Hike: Thursday, April 10, 2008
Trail Conditions: Spring snow, mud
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes
Comments:
Parking area plowed, room for 3 vehicles.
Old Path from ski trail to col - snowshoes needed, no blowdowns. First part has melted through to mud.
New Path from col to South Doublehead - snowshoes needed, trail hard to follow, a few blowdowns.
New Path from col to North Doublehead - snowshoes needed.
Doublehead Ski Trail - middle portion looks like great skiing. Upper part covered in spruce needles, but still skiable. Lower flats have 3 open water crossings (step over/across), as well as some water running down side of trail in some places. 18-36" or so of base on the trail still.
