Hi Everyone,
I hiked up South Moat today. I was blown away at the temperature. I packed for a full-up winter hike but ended up in short sleeves the whole way. It certainly ended up making my pack pretty heavy, carrying my winter layers on my back.
The trail conditions were all over the place. Some well packed snow, some ice, some mud, some bare trail and some post-holing...a little of everything. This is the first "real" hike I've done since last September, and I definitely had a tough time with it, which means I have a lot of work to do before Seek the Peak.
My full trip report and pics are on my blog here: http://livefreeandhikenh.blogspot.com/2011/04/spend-day-bein-lazy-just-bein-natures.html
In the blog, click on the pictures to make them larger.
Here are a couple of my favorite pics too if you don't feel like following the link.
The last one is actually from the ride home. Stopped in at Chocorua Lake.
Thanks,
Karl
