Date Hiked: 3-16-08
Trail Conditions:
Started trail at southern terminus from Dugway Rd. Trail had about an inch of heavy wet snow on it, not too bad. Post-holed a little, even with snowshoes as the warm weather had loosened the crust a bit. Lost the trail about 1.9 miles or so in and eventually made my way back to the trail. Trail is poorly marked past this point, but if you keep going up you'll find what your looking for.
Equipment:
Snowshoes, preferably with heel lifters, map and compass, carried crampons, but no use for them with the snow sticking to the top.
Comments:
Foggy with zero views, but the hike was nice and it was very warm. Passed a back-country skier on the way down. Trail should be well packed at least for the first few miles.
