We scouted out the route from Lincoln Woods to the footbridge on the lower part of the Thoreau Falls. We were able to ski on the East Side Trail, Cedar Brook Trail, Wilderness Trail and the Thoreau Falls trail. We went as far as the footbridge over the Pemi. While the whole route was covered with snow, there were stretches with gullies across the trail every 50 yards. But we had some nice stretches of skiing. I would happily do it again despite the fact that we probably took our skis off 20 times.
The crossing of Cedar Brook took a little effort. Some of us shimmied over a log just upstream of the crossing. Others went upstream 100 yards where the river spread out into more than one channel.
Hoping to do the entire traverse once there is more snow!
