Yesterday (10/2/04) I went for a little jaunt with Ray, he's from the AMC message boards. We planned to to do Tripyrimids but we thougth it might be dangerous. We thought we should do the the Field, Tom and Willey loop. But because it was such a great day we made other plans. We decided to do the Edmunds Path to Eisenhower, and the Carwford Path to Monroe.
We hiked at 10 o'clock amd went on the Edmunds and we walked on a beautiful path with nasty foliage. We made to Eisenhower in an hour and fourty minutes. We saw many people out with same plan as us, most of them had dogs with them. We saw the Montalban Range and Madison from where we were. Ray and I went to the top of Eisenhower and back down and had lunch at Red Pond. We walked to Franklin and it was so beautiful looking ahead to the North and seeing all this beautiful tundra. By the time we got to Franklin it was very windy and we walked to Monroe and it was winday (50 mph) and very cloudy. Many of you might of you might of experienced the usual cloudyness on the Presies and it was like that when we turned around at Monroe. We had to squint to find the carins and Ray's glasses fogged up and he had to constanly wipe them. I thought we got lost at one point because of an unfamilar area. We scouted around and found our back to Eisenhower in no time. We came off the ridge at 3:10 and came down the Edmunds path from 3:10 and got out of the woods at 5:00. Ray and I had great time hiking. After that we had a well deserved dinner at the Mooseland Grill.
