Trail is reasonably well packed for first 2 miles, then trail is lost in blowdowns and deep drifting (>4ft.) for the last mile to the summit. We made it to the top following a recent set of shoeprints, but much scrambling and swimming was necessary. Peak has thin snow, very little ice. Descent is okay, lost of glissading. Plan 8 hours round trip if you are carrying any weight.
Gear needed: Snowshoes, the bigger the better. Bring at least a stout hiking stick, or preferably an ice axe to gain purchase on the last two steep scrambles to the summit. No need for crampons.
