Parked in lot 1 at the ski area and spoke with a lift operator about hiking up the ski trails. He was quite helpful and confirmed my suspicion that the preferred route up is the right-most green to the climbers right from the base lodge. He also said Stratton doesn't charge passes for hikers which I appreciate. I wore snowshoes the whole way to preserve the trail and with the incoming cold temperatures found the snow to be freezing up around 3500 and higher making for fast climbing. The trail to the true summit had been broken out some time ago before the melt so with all the consolidation it was still packing down a lot. Trail conditions upon first glance appeared similar heading south from the summit. Summit was in the clouds so didn't venture up the tower. Nice quick hike on a comfortably cool and windy day on Stratton.
