Trail extremely muddy right from the start. Suprisingly, Indian Falls Brook was not too high for a safe barefoot crossing. The mud seemed to get worse as we ascended with the largest wallow of all at the summit clearing of Street. We kind of felt guilty for even hiking in those conditions given the stress to the trail. Also met the venerable Pin Pin up top. What a guy! His numbers just boggled our minds on the way down. If keeping clean is important, wear gaitors with waterproof boots. Otherwise just slog through it. We kept our record of dodging the rain for 39 peaks now. Amazing! Been carrying this raincoat for 5 years now and never needed it! Chris [email protected]
