Pete likes to leave a few head bangers to retain the herd path feel, but it all sounds good. :)

Hey, gotta leave some kind of challenge there. Don't want these to be considered the easiest peaks of all.

Street & Nye had a fair amount, and it took me two trips this year to get it in reasonable condition. Going back in the fall with a crosscut to take out a couple 30 inchers, maybe.

I did these this weekend and I dontknow why they call them "trailess". Gret job pete. By the way, the trees going to street summit were kind of cool. they were shaped like arcs and "U"'s. Was that you Pete? Anyway like I said there is almost no way you can get lost on this trail, except if your "Me" :( . Ileft parking lot at 6:30 am and was going around heart lake kind of half asleep and after awhile I wondered where this street ski trail was on the right. I kept going and thought something was wrong, but I kept going becouse I did not see a fork to the right. I took the first trail I saw to the right, which was rocky falls. Now I know I went to far, so after checking out the falls I headed back. I found the trail way back by the register. I looks kind of obvious when you are looking for it, but I wasn't expecting I so soon so walked right past it. I walked about 15 feet past the trail and looked to see where I went wrong coming from the direction of the parking lot. Well the trail signs it 10 feet into the trail. I never saw it. When I got back to the lake I stopped at that small museum, and mentioned it to this 16 year old kid. He works there and has been around the lake dozens of times and he never saw the sign to street and nye  .

This is good news for a non bushwhacker like me, Thanks guys. I'm staying at the LOJ Friday & Saturday night. As of right now plans for the week after CT hike tomorrow are:

Friday afternoon - Bear Den & Dial (Nipple Top might be # 46 if I ever finish, if all done on Sunday I'll have 26)

Saturday - Gray, Skylight & Marcy

Sunday - Street & Nye

Historical. Officially, they are class 2 paths.

Ice storms and heavy snow, and/or blowdown pushing a tree down, and it doesn't recover completely when the blowdown is removed.
