My wife and I were alone on the trails all day. Most of the trailhead parking areas were empty or had one or two cars at most. Conditions were good with light clouds and more sun as the day progressed. We started down the Old Nye Ski Trail at about 9:15 and made the col by 11:30. We dropped our packs at the col and quickly picked up Nye, then Street, leaving the col at 1:00 and getting back to the car at 3:00.
We used microspikes for the entire trip with great success. The trail was well defined and there wasn't much new snow. Temps ranged from 24 to 35. The water crossings were all frozen over and easy to cross. A great day spent with my Valentine and Heart Lake!! W21 & W22
