Date Hiked: 30-Mar-2008
Conditions: Icy in the Rt. 3 and I-93 underpasses. But after that, the trail consists of firmly packed snow. No water-crossing issues. Only one blowdown of any significance (just before summit), but you can slither under it.
Special Equipment: Probably bare-bootable, but we wore Stablicers which made the trek more comfortable (especially for the icy highway underpasses).
Comments: Today was such an exceptionally beautiful weather day. And, regardless of where you went, it should have been a great hike.
C.C.Hiker accompanied me today, and her criteria were that we have a view, and that we not spend hours hiking there & back. She wanted ample time to “hang out” and soak in some sun. So with those criteria in mind, Mt. Pemigewasset was chosen as the venue du jour. It turned out to be an excellent choice, and surprisingly, we had the entire summit to ourselves!!
Photos (including sunbathing on the sands of Mt Pemigewasset) are located HERE.
