SW Twin via Franconia Brk Tr & whack 10/13/08
Conditions: FB Trail mostly dry and free of blowdowns. Bushwhack up ridge(bearing true 31) included open hardwoods, nasty firs, mud, moss, & boulders. From FBT the whack to the summit took 3 hours.
Special Equipment: none required. Only I used poles & only Lars used goggles though I did get a stick it the eye at one point.
Comments: the jar & log at the summit need to be replaced. The wet logbook was replaced with some cardboard sheets and bottle was attached to tree upside down but the lid will freeze on once temps fall. Old log will be given to Trailwrights by Lars. Our group of 4 included Lars, Dave, Georg, and I. We descended via a different route believing it would be easier to head straight down to the Twin Brook(bearing true 304) then following the Twin Brook Tr but it took us three and a half hours to get back to Red Rock Brook where the whack started. Total time 13:45.
